Inside and Out

I have been thinking about my studio planning, and I realize that I also want to include the backyard space as an extension of my studio.  I think that the whole back yard and a garden can be a source of  inspiration to me, and it has always been important to me to have that.  I am sure that the backyard bunnies will enjoy it as well.  It is just that I am beginning anew, in a new place, and starting over so to speak.
I walked out in the back yard and realized that we have quite a few black ants and large ant hills - even right up around where the mission fig tree is growing.  I have also noticed some wasps, and a bee hive in a tree in the front yard.  So, I think my first challenge is to decide how to handle these issues.  Below, I have posted some photos of what I'm thinking of for the space so far.  I really like this stone circle and firepit and the adirondack chairs.  I would like to have a space like this to the left of the studio.  I am going to move our current picnic table and chairs to the right of the studio.
I just purchased the fire pit from Amazon and am waiting on the delivery.  I had kind of pictured a round fire pit, but this one was a great price, and I like all of the accessories that come with it.
I have always wanted to build one of these bottle trees, and maybe wrap it in some twinkly lights.  I have saved some bottles, so will be working on this project also.
I did have two back porch rockers, but they wore out and broke and I love to rock on the back porch.  It is very relaxing to me.    So it is time to begin looking for rockers - at a reasonable price.  I think I want black rockers this time.
I have a watering trough that I use for gardening, that I had moved from the "industrial" duplex and I also have quite a few pots.  They all need to be cleaned out, and have new soil put in, and then decide on my plants.  I have grown different kinds of peppers and tomatoes before, so I am interested in a bit of food gardening and some flowering plants.  I think that this outside space is just as important as the studio for creating.  Not just creating art work, but a space that I can relax and be inspired, and can share beauty with friends and family.  At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to invest the time and money into this - but since I know I will not be transitioning anywhere for at least a couple of years - I think it is important enough to me to still pursue this, and it will also be improving the place in which we live.
The bottom two photos show a bit of the "industrial" duplex garden that I was able to grow while we lived there - and I also think that a plein air easel would be a good investment for painting in the fresh air of the backyard and for painting on site at places I may travel.

I am really pleased with my firepit purchase and it was fairly easy to put together.

One idea for a bottle tree.

The water trough used for gardening - after I get the weed out!
Industrial area patio garden before we moved.  I loved sitting out on this patio and enjoying family meals here.
